Belkyra, the new fat-dissolving product, especially for the double chin is now available. Belkyra, also called Kybella abroad, consists of deoxycholic acid, which also occurs naturally in the body to break down fats. With this, for example, we can tackle the lower-chin.
When we inject deoxycholic acid into the adipose tissue of the double chin, it destroys the cell wall of the fat cells located there. Once broken, the fat cells can no longer absorb fat, the contents are naturally transported via the lymph and thus the volume of the double chin decreases.
Deoxycholic acid is the new generation lipolysis product with which we can do something about that troublesome double chin, without surgery or liposuction!
Treatment can only be performed by a Belkyra®-trained cosmetic doctor. With each treatment you receive several small injections under your chin and the injection process takes about 15 to 20 minutes. The exact number of injections depends on the amount of fat you have under your chin and the result you want to see.
For optimal results it is necessary to agree a minimum of 2-3 and a maximum of 6 treatments with an interval of a few weeks.
The duration of the effect depends on your individual characteristics (lifestyle, metabolism), the product used and the treated area. The improving effect is generally visible after 4-6 weeks. Thereafter, one or more repeat treatments are required for an optimal effect. Once broken down, fat cells do not come back.
Your skin will be cooled immediately after the treatment.
Your skin will be swollen for a few days, but this will disappear automatically and is a sign that the fat-degrading process is working.
The first 24 hours it is wise not to apply make-up or cream to reduce the risk of infection.
To attaque the pain, it is advisable to swallow 1000 mg paracetamol one hour prior to treatment. You can repeat this every 6 hours after the treatment if necessary.
Do absolutely not use NSAID’s (ibuprofen, diclofenac, naproxen) because they can negatively affect the process.
Do not hesitate to consult your doctor after treatment if you see effects of Belkyra® that you did not expect.
Also look for the general risks of cosmetic treatments here.
It is important not to take aspirin or blood thinners prior to treatment as this will increase the risk of bleeding. Consult your attending physician if you are prescribed blood thinners or if it is possible to suspend them temporarily.
During every cosmetic treatment with needles there is a very small chance of infection or a small subcutaneous bleeding (bruise). If you are familiar with hypersensitivity to lidocaine, xylocaine or procaine, then another pain reliever will be chosen in consultation with you.
A possible side effect of the treatment will be a temporary swelling or local irritation of the skin shortly after the application of the product. Cooling (via a bag of ice) can reduce these effects. Any slight skin irritation will disappear within a day, without any lasting residual symptoms.
In some cases, an infection can occur that can be treated well with an antibiotic.
You can normally resume your normal activities the day after.
Your first consultation is entirely free of obligation and free of charge. A follow-up appointment without treatment costs € 40.
If you decide to have a treatment you will be asked to pay half the price you agreed upon in advance.
